The Bambu Lab A1 Domestic Version is a high-speed desktop FDM 3D printer designed for hobbyists, makers, educators, engineers, and professional prototyping. It combines a 256 × 256 × 256mm build volume, up to 500mm/s toolhead speed, and 10,000mm/s² maximum acceleration with highly automated calibration and monitoring features.
The A1 features an all-metal hotend with a maximum temperature of 300°C, a heated bed up to 100°C, automatic bed leveling, automatic Z-offset calibration, vibration compensation, and active flow-rate compensation. These features make the printer relatively easy to operate while maintaining consistent print quality.
The A1 also supports AMS Lite for multi-color printing. Please note that the standard A1 does not include AMS Lite; AMS Lite is included with the A1 Combo package.

Supported Filaments
Recommended / Ideal
Not Recommended
- ABS
- ASA
- PC
- PA
- PET
- Carbon-fiber reinforced filament
- Glass-fiber reinforced filament
Bambu Lab specifically lists PLA, PETG, TPU and PVA as ideal materials for the A1 and marks the higher-temperature/filled materials above as not recommended.
Multi-Color Printing
The A1 can be paired with Bambu Lab AMS Lite for multi-color printing. The AMS Lite provides automatic filament switching and enables multi-color printing.
Important: The Domestic Version A1 standard package does not mean AMS Lite is included. If your stock is the regular A1, list it as A1, not A1 Combo.
Automatic Calibration System
The A1 significantly reduces manual calibration through:
- Automatic bed leveling
- Automatic Z-offset calibration
- Automatic vibration resonance calibration
- Automatic flow-rate calibration
- Automatic belt tension monitoring
- Automatic filament loading/unloading
- Nozzle pressure-based flow compensation
This makes the A1 particularly suitable for users who want a relatively plug-and-play 3D printing experience.
Applications:
- 3D prototyping
- Engineering projects
- Robotics parts
- Electronics enclosures
- Educational projects
- DIY projects
- Product development
- Architectural models
- Functional mechanical parts
- Customized household products
- Miniature and decorative models
- Small-scale manufacturing
